17 May Cruiser’s weekend roundup

Cove SC had their biggest fleet of the season last Friday, as 10 boats came to the start line for round three of the Friday night league.  The breezy conditions suited Finbarr Dorgan’s new Sonar, which had a very successful first outing, taking first place in IRC with Bedlam finishing first in ECHO.  A hotly contested whitesail race was won by Carl Queen’s Maximiser.

Cove SC’s annual Marlogue trophy race was held on Sunday. Four Cove SC boats were joined on the start line by four Royal Cork YC boats.  Fast Buck, Yanks and Franks, Felix and No Gnomes are to be commended for continuing to support this historic race.

Fast Buck took first in the Echo division, with Bedlam second and Yanks and Franks third. The IRC division was won by No Gnomes, with Yanks and Franks in second and Bedlam in third. Thanks to Damian Aherne and the crew of Re Eile for performing OD duties and setting a great course.
