23 May Cove Dinghy Racing – Midweek and Weekend Leagues

Cove Sailing Club will once again run two separate dinghy leagues over the summer months (June – August) as follows:

1) The “Jim Hennessey” midweek series of races on Wednesday evenings (FG 19.00); and,

2) The “Mary English” weekend series which will also incorporate Cove’s historical “Named” dinghy races (the Brooklands Cup, The East Ferry Cup, Cove at Home, Cobh People’s Regatta, and the Ballinacurra Cup and Sunday racing (FG12.00) on the other weekends.

You can compete in either or both series and separate individual results and overall league standings will be posted on our website after each round of races. There is no entry fee and the only only restriction is that you must have your own boat/gear. We cannot use club boats for racing.

Please note that all participants in any dinghy races must complete and submit the dinghy racing entry form which is available to download below. Completed (and signed) forms must be submitted to a member of the Dinghy Race Committee prior to racing. Failure to submit your completed form may prevent you from getting a result.

Any Adult club members able to get involved and help with race officer duties, or provide general on-shore support (on a voluntary basis) should also get in contact as this is a major commitment by Cove to strengthen the racing side of our Club and any additional support we can get over the summer months would be gratefully received.
