Cobh Regatta 2014 – Dinghies

Cove SC burgeeTesting conditions for Cobh’s Dinghy Regatta today with the competitors having to contend with a brisk 12-16 knots of wind, fairly cold air temperature once you got out on the water and a strong ebb tide.

The race officers sent the fleet around 3 challenging courses and with no discards it was always going to be about consistency. Over the first 2 races youngest competitor Noah in his mirror with Dad Kieran Dorgan took two bullets and were looking favourites to win the overall series but unfortuately they had to retire before the last race.

Cian Synnott sailed consistently well all day and with two 2nds in the first 2 races took advantage of the mirror’s retirement and finished the last race with a win to take this years Cobh Regatta title. The Noah/Kieran Dorgan team finished in 2nd overall with Jaime in 3rd.
