Cork Week 2014 – update

Cork Week 2014

Cork Week 2014 gets underway today with a family day and later on the official opening ceremony. This is followed by a practice day on Monday and then the racing starts in earnest on Tuesday.

The first proper days racing will see the entire fleet racing past Cobh in the Harbour Race and offers the best opportunity to view the competitors without having to leave the Island.

Looking at the entry list on the Cork Week website there is currently only one entry from Cove Sailing Club. Fresh from their Quarter Ton Corinthian Cup victory Illes Pitiuses will be competing with Dominic Losty, Richard Marshall, Kieran and Gareth Dorgan, Hal Courtney, Niall Kelly and Nial Hawes. We understand that Fergus will enter his J80 – Jedi, if he can find crew which judging by the response from members yesterday looks promising. Elsewhere Ewan O’Keefe is crewing on a Dublin boat and there are probably a few other members involved with boats that we are not yet aware of. Anyway good luck to everyone and hope you do well and have a great Week. We’ll update progress during the week so let us know if you are racing and we will keep an eye out for you.
