18 Jun Weekend Dinghy League – Week 1

Another beautiful morning in Cork Harbour and it feels like I could be getting used to this. 5 boats headed out to Oyster Bank and with very light winds threatening to disappear altogether we managed only to get in one quick practice session before the serious business got going.

Its clear to those of us on the OD boat that the starts are getting better all round and everybody coped with the tricky sailing conditions really well.

The final results reflected being in the right place at the right time or avoiding the wrong place at the right time as the what wind there was shifted and picked up and moved away completely at times.

Sunday racing continues with the East Ferry Cup next week. Depending on wind conditions (or lack thereof) we may have to reschedule just to make sure everyone makes it up to East Ferry. We will update you nearer the time.
